To my surprise and delight, this really is a plain snuff, only set apart from its European and American equivalents by the fact that it is an oiled snuff, rather than being moistened with water. The grind is medium-fine, moisture level medium and the colour a mid brown. 

After a few hours use I do find that the oil (almost certainly food grade paraffin oil) tends to clog my nose up a bit but that is probably down to my nose rather than any flaw or fault in the snuff. This is the only reason for giving it four stars instead of five.

An interesting and enjoyable snuff which ought to be tried by anyone who favours the plainer snuffs.
