I recently picked up a small pot (not one of the new dispensers) of this one for the first time, having realised that somehow or other I had managed to miss it before. I do tend to prefer plain snuffs and I couldn't resist giving this one a go. I am so glad I did! The grind is medium rather than fine (as is usual with GH snuffs) and it isn't as dry as many of their others. In colour it is a mid red-brown. In flavour it is pure tobacco as one would expect from the name and very nice it is too. It reminds me a little of their Kendal Brown which I also enjoy. I think it would be worth having this one in bulk.
Update: I have been reliably informed that Plain is indeed a plain version of the Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Brown. No wonder I like it! Thanks to Xander and Peter Baxter (of Airey's of Kendal) for the information on this.
